The SatanicMidwest
A network of Outsider Satanist communities
Who We Are
The Satanic Midwest is a network of independent Outsider Satanist communities across the Midwest region.
We exist to spread awareness of Outsider Satanism, connect like-minded individuals with local communities, and support one another.
Our Values
We embrace the values of Outsider Satanism. These are not commandments or rules. They are values we prioritize—a living framework that grows and changes as we do.
- Critical Thinking & the Pursuit of KnowledgeInsatiable curiosity motivates us, and evidence is paramount. There is no blind faith here.
- BalanceA healthy balance exists in the space between extremes. We avoid arbitrary allegiances in favor of educated decision making.
- WonderReal magic is found in life's powerful moments. Seek out the truly beautiful experiences. Seize the day.
- Personal FreedomWe celebrate indulgence, individuality, bodily autonomy, free expression, diverse sexuality, and honesty.
- Celebration of the SelfThe most important person in your life is you. Self-empowerment and self-love are required to reach your potential and maximize joy.
- JusticeEven those we detest are considered innocent until proven guilty. What can be asserted without evidence can also be dismissed without evidence.
- RebellionOur veneration of Satan empowers us to rebel against arbitrary authority and the uninspired status quo.
- AcceptanceWe use empathy and compassion to understand those who differ from us. No two lived experiences are alike.
What We Believe
We don't worship Satan. Satan is a symbol—of rebellion against arbitrary authority, of individuality, of the outsider who refuses to conform.
We are non-theistic. There is no supernatural belief here.
Our Chapters
The Satanic Midwest is home to independent local communities who share our values. Each chapter operates autonomously, shaped by the people who build it.
FAQ
- Do you worship Satan? No. We don't believe Satan exists as a literal being. Satan is a symbol—of rebellion against arbitrary authority, of individualism, of the outsider who refuses to conform. We are non-theistic. There is no supernatural belief here.
- How is this different from The Satanic Temple or Church of Satan? We follow Outsider Satanism, a distinct denomination of modern Satanism. Like TST and CoS, we are non-theistic and use Satan as a symbol. Unlike them, Outsider Satanism is truly apolitical, preserves foundational concepts like rational self-interest, and prioritizes values over rules or commandments. We're not an offshoot of either organization—we're independent communities building something different.
- Are you anti-Christian?No. We oppose arbitrary authority, forced belief, and religious overreach into personal freedoms—but that's not the same as being against Christianity or Christians as people. We support everyone's right to believe what they want. We simply ask for the same respect in return.
